West Wratting came to their final game looking to avenge their reverse league fixture back in November .

The Reds could not have made a better or more dramatic start to the game. Playing with the slope The lads took the lead in the first minute when Jack Whiting spun in the middle and found Freeza who burst past his marker and thumped home for the opener. A minute later and it was 2, Wratting winning the ball back from the re-start and the same combination of Jack and Josh getting Freeza again thru and this time he scored with his right after the keeper had saved well from his first attempt.

No respite for the beleaguered Sawston defence and the keeper has to be sharp to save a snap shot from Tom Pinker. The third duly arrives and with just 5 minutes played Luke Wilson wins a tussle on the right and the ball breaks for Jack Whiting at the far right of the box… Jack looks up and hits an absolute beauty into the top corner giving the keeper no chance 3-0. Wow what a start !!!

Sawston are shell shocked but attempt to get them selves into the game and the play settles for the next 10 or 15 minutes but the Reds... particularly when they work the ball to man of the match Josh Free look like the could score each time they attack.

Joe Harrington is a mere spectator playing in front of a re-shuffled back 4 of Zak Ollington, Jack Child , Sam Clayton and Matt Wilson and his only save of note comes when Sam Clayton nearly heads past him when tidying up a Sawston attack.

Harry Willett and Dan Espin are completely bossing the middle and fashion a move that see’s Tom Pinker notch his first and the team’s 4th the ball is delivered in by Harry and Tom rises to head home.  Harry should have made it 5 when another great run by Josh gets him to the byline and he pulls one back but Harry just can’t wrap his foot around it with the goal gaping. Not long to wait for the 5th thou.. Dan is fouled in midfield and the free-kick is fully 40 yards out..up steps Tom Pinker to unleash a thunder-bolt that screeches in of the under-side of the bar with the keeper and indeed the Sawston defence just watching in awe !!

The Reds are completely rampant and show great control by keeping the ball moving and never allowing their opponents to settle.

As half time approaches they notch their 6th , tremendous interplay from back to front.. Matt Wilson, into Dan on to Harry who finds Josh who in turn squares it across for Jack Whiting to tuck home at the far post.

H-T 6-0

The 2nd half starts with Sawston looking to keep the ball and stunt Wratting from going forward and manage to make a much better fist of it than they did in the first half. Sam Langham is now partnering Tom Pinker up top and is busy, first sending Luke Wilson thru only to see his effort saved at the near post and then setting Josh away on the other flank for Josh to flash wide.

The Reds have a good shout for a penalty as Luke is felled in the area but the Ref say’s no and play continues.

Sawston manage to create themselves a couple of very good chances with two terrific deliveries but they couldn’t find the final touch.

Tom Warnock starts the next move finding Josh down the left he again terrorises the full back but Sawston scramble away.

Tom Pinker replaces Joe Harrington in goal with Joe now rampaging up top. But it is Tom who pulls off a magnificent double save as Sawston looked certain to score..and just as it looked like they would go home empty handed they work the ball down the left and deliver to the far post where the striker is all alone to prod home for a well deserved consolation.

The Reds are not done thou and Joe squanders the first of 2 guilt edged chances when he fires wide after a great thru ball from Langers and then he tries a back heel which just rolls inches wide.

The games final goal fittingly comes from Josh for his hat-trick Tom W sets him away and he skips past his marker for the ump-teenth time and finds the corner with a high quality finish. 7-1

Good all round today and although the goals were tremendous the boys at the back also played their part with both Jack Child and Zak Ollington worthy of a mention.. A brace for both Tom Pinker and Jack Whiting but both were outshone by Freeza for Man of the Match

Well Done to all !!!!
