With Brown unavailable the Wratts chose to adopt a keeper rotation system. Starting with Hayes, he had plenty to do helping to see off a spirited opening from the visitors. An excellent performance at centre back from Boulton, more familiar with putting the ball in the net than keeping it out, was crucial in keeping Priory at bay. Wilson at right wing seemed to have the left back ‘on toast’ and despite a couple of great chances pulled across the goal the Wratts failed to capitalise on this preferring to go through the centre. Willett made some brilliantly timed runs but could not buy a finish, until just before half time, onto a brilliant through ball from Biggs he slipped it under the keeper. Biggs in goal for the start of the second half started in calamity, spilling one through his legs at the near post to draw Priory level. But a fantastic driving run from Child opened up Priory and Hayes providing the sort of quality finish lacking in the first half immediately restored the lead and when Willet drew a foul in the box Curran stepped up and with a clean strike from the spot to give a two goal cushion. Queue Sendall’s stint in goal, with Hayes still wearing the socks and Biggs the shorts there was something comical about the situation but nothing comical about Sendall’s performance, immediately called on to make two fine saves one with his legs and then one for the cameras as he pushed it over the bar from some way out of his goal, he was then instrumental in the Wratts fourth goal, collecting a high ball he distributed quickly, a flick on from Warnock and Biggs was away to make amends for his error in the goal with an incredible solo effort. Harrison wrapped it up, signing off with a goal. He met an excellent cross from Percy but required a little assistance from the hapless keeper who ended up prostrate in the goal bringing an end to the match and season. Man of the match Harry Sendall. Well done to Keith, Andy and the boys in what was at some times a difficult season. Good luck to Andy and Sean as they move on.
